Sustainability Matters
Threads and Rope.
The depths hide a entangling wasteland.
According to World Animal Protection, “every year 640,000 metric tons of fishing nets are lost or discarded in our oceans each year, trapping and killing countless marine mammals, including endangered whales, seals and turtles. Shallow coral reef habitats also suffer further degradation from the gear, which can take up to 600 years to decompose.”

ECONYL® regenerated nylon is made by recovering nylon waste – such as fishing nets from the oceans and aquaculture, fabric scraps from mills and carpets destined for landfill – and turning it into virgin quality nylon yarn. This nylon is 100% recycled and recyclable.
Sterling Silver.
We source our sterling silver from a United States primary refiner that is certified by SCS Global as environmentally and ethically responsible. Our metals are made with 100% recycled silver refined from jewelry scrap and manufacturing byproducts.
Glass Beads.
Local artisans in Ghana hand make our glass beads from glass that would have other wise been wasted to the landfill. Bottles, jars, and other glass remnants are collected, crushed, melted and placed in molds to form beads. We purchase the beads through a fair trade retailer that supports their developing economy by paying fair wages and empowering the Ghana people through building their sales capacity.
Shipping and Labels.
Every box was once a tree. In an effort to protect our woodlands and waters, our boxes are made from recycled and unbleached cardboard. By using recycled cardboard, fewer trees must perish for you to receive your treasures. Unbleached means they are chlorine free; which is a known contaminant of water sources making them safely biodegradable. We also use the same standards for our filler in and around our box as apposed to plastic or foam. But the most fun you will have with our packaging is our tag-which is made out of seed paper and printed with ecofriendly ink. Just add a little dirt and water and grow a plant!
